We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

April Showers Bring...

Well, MORE showers in May around here!

The excess rain is causing these to bloom too fast, I think. Last year they seemed to bloom more gradually. Now there's hardly any left! It's not even the "rainy season" yet...and it just doesn't stop!

Well, at least we have a little break today. We're supposed to get more this weekend, though. Ugh! Does paradise really need this much rain?

We just had two days of rain, more than I've ever seen here, where it typically just rains very hard for a few minutes then stops. I know we are at the beginning of our rainy season, though, so I expect more. I am just not so sure how much more...
