We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Another Pizza Sunday

Cliff sneaked up on me in the kitchen today...

To document one of his favorite occasions.

Homemade-Pizza Sunday! (See my cheese-free section?) Today's pizza was topped with marinara, yellow peppers, pineapple, artichoke hearts, fresh basil and caramelized onions. YUM!

I use some wheat flour in the crust, too...which (I think) gives it more flavor. If you'd like the recipe (and aren't afraid of yeast dough) just let me know and I'll get it to you.

I have been making this crust for 16 years now, after taste-testing variations on my husband to get it just right. It's thick, soft and slightly sweet...just the way he likes it! ;~D

Please do pass on your crust recipe; we've yet to find one that we are totally happy with, and yours looks nice and thick.
