We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Happy Mother's Day!

What a fantastic Mother's Day!

OK, so the Mac wasn't really a Mother's Day present...but we bought it this weekend, and it will be a gift to be able to get onto iPhoto whenever I need to, without having to battle my kids for the computer. (4 teen/pre-teen kids on one computer just isn't working.) Not to mention...if it weren't for Cliff wanting me to have just what I wanted...we just would have bought whatever was cheapest...so it is sort of a gift for me...even though it's for everyone. Maybe now there won't be such a delay in the blog posting, since I won't have to wait in line!

I love my new digital photo frame. It's been another hit for the whole family. It's easy to get sucked into the slideshow and forget what you were supposed to be doing.

The Godiva? Well, I only share that with Cliff. Kids like any old chocolate...Godiva is for adults.

Of course, there was the obligatory breakfast in bed...yummy Japanese toast, juice and fresh fruit. Then it was time to get out the door for church...followed by a lovely nap. The best part? Cliff was HOME...not in another country!

Thanks, family...for another fantastic Mother's Day! I love you all!
