We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Flashback Friday...Patrick...Master of Disguise!

Tonight, I saw Patrick getting himself all dressed up for night games. I think they were going out to gather up some neighborhood friends to play "Manhunt"...an uber game of hide and seek. I looked at his cold weather camouflage get up, complete with hood, hat AND strap-on spotlight, and tried to push any visions out of my head of PMO getting panicked calls from our neighbors about snipers in their bushes. I gritted my teeth and told them all to have fun.

Patrick has ALWAYS been skilled in the costume department. He's very creative, and we always had a trunk full of all sorts of leftover Halloween components and anything else that looked like it might resemble battle gear (and a few frilly items mixed in for our one, lonely girl).

Anyway, I will spare Patrick the embarrassment of sharing his spontaneous "Indian in the Cupboard" get up here...but only because I've temporarily misplaced it. We'll save that for another flashback, I promise. For now, this is almost just as good:

Boys are SO awesome! As I looked through the children's gift shop over by the hospital yesterday, I was so sad that I didn't have any little guys anymore...I'm just glad I documented all of this for posterity!

They're SOOO cute! And it's going to be so weird for me to see your boys all grown up. For me, I always think of them as 'forever young'!

You definately need to hold on to this one. I would pull it out if he brings home a girl you don't approve of. This is sure to run her away. :-)

I'm with Robinson's on this one! You've gotta keep it around!
