We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Can I get an 'Amen'?

This year I had an opportunity to participate in a community choir event on the Air Force base. Several congregations were invited to perform Christmas music for the event, and it was awesome! We practiced for a couple of months, and it all paid off. But we could hardly compete with these kind of cuties:

Several Gospel-type choirs participated, too, and really got the crowd moving!

This is our combined LDS group here. We had a great turn out this year compared to past years, I heard. We sang "Angels We Have Heard on High" and "Night of Silence" which is a beautiful "Silent Night" medley. The congregation joined in with our last verse of "Silent Night".

"Glo-o-o-o-o-o-ria"

Then all the choirs came back on stage to sing "Joy to the World" together.

What a special opportunity this was to be a part of!
