We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Patrick's 16th Bday Celebration

As is our tradition, the birthday boy got to choose his favorite dinner (at home or out) and chose:

Yoshi's!

We went last night, straight from play practice. Doesn't he look nice? He's really into dressing for success at school lately.

Everyone loves Yoshi's so we didn't mind Patrick's choice in the least.

For me...veggie sushi and veggie tempura. Yum!

Gorgeousness!

Are you drooling?

And Patrick got just what he wanted...a small camera to document his epic life.

He's planning on doing a "photo of the day" feature on Facebook. I told him he should start his own blog instead.

He got everything he needs to go with it, too.

He was so touched by all of our birthday messages...

But not so much by our singing (or the fact that his sister made him wear the hat).

Not the MoTab Choir...but at least the message is full of love.

Happy Birthday, Patrick!
