We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Ahh! This is where the art gene landed...

Because heaven knows it sure skipped me! I have many artists on both sides of the family, but I just don't have it in me. Coree has always had an interest in art, especially drawing wolves and now cats.

This past week she took some art lessons from a friend of mine, Marissa, of In Full Bloom Watercolors.

Coree was very nervous and resistant, but I think she was happy with the results.

Now if I can just convince her to take another round of lessons!

What a beautiful picture! I assumed it was a poster and not painted by someone you know when I first looked at this blog post! Well done Coree. We look forward to saying we " knew" you before you became a famous artist!!!
