We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

The Gift of a Perfectly FABULOUS Day (Part 2)

Since we were all full of burgers and such, we decided to walk some of it off. Lucky for us, there was a beautiful beach right out the door.

Jake and Coree ran ahead to get some time on the zip lines before we got there...

Weeee.....

And then everyone had some fun on the pirate ship.

I don't mean to always be so sentimental on here...but it was just so weird to see how big they were compared to the equipment. Just yesterday they were so little!

Patrick demonstrating his parkour skillz.

Patrick muttering something about a jar of dirt? Maybe you had to be there. Wait...I was there...and I don't get it.

Oohhh baby, you can captain my ship anytime! ;^)

Damsel in distress

Easy fix.

Coree: "This is more like it."

Pretty fun little ship, really. Okinawa has awesome parks.

We walked (OK...some of us danced) further down the beach to see what else we could see.

I love stealth camera...you get the best stuff!

I didn't know of his leprechaun-like talents before today.

Like I was sayin'...talents.

And of course, since there were boys...there was tusslin'

OK...so the girl can hold her own, too.

The water was gorgeous.

Ah-hem...speaking of gorgeous...where was I?

I made the kids pose in the cave, which is probably shelter for the homeless alcoholics we typically see down here...but it looks nice if you don't think about that.

Coree didn't want me to take this pic (that's why she was cheesing)...

But Patrick asked me to take these...

I guess I should have realized he'd be jumping out of the frame. Live and learn.

It was a beautiful day...and the most fun part was free...so if you average that in with the $80 for burgers we spent at the first stop...it's not so bad, right? (Carrie math)

Hope you're all staying warm and dry out there!
