A couple of days ago I went into my favorite travel agency on Okinawa to purchase my airline ticket to meet Cliff in Tokyo. Happy, happy day! While I was waiting, I noticed this flier. Although small, it was hard for me to miss. The walls are covered with all manner of colorful posters, fliers, brochures, etc...but, as you can imagine, they are all in Kanji...so this was pretty much it for me:

Care to guess what they are proposing? Maybe it's just me, but it seems as though they are saying if I book an international ticket with them, I get McDonald's service (would that be instead of the other in flight meal?) AND three new friends! That's one of the best gift-with-purchase offers I've seen, actually.
Well, wasn't I disappointed to read in one of the American newspapers that H.I.S. will give me a free McDonald's gift certificate if I refer them 3 of my friends who then buy international airfare through H.I.S. Really? McDonald's? That would be a sure way to keep me from referring anyone (using my name, at least).
Now, throw in a bowl of Soba or a Sushi-go-round "service coupon" and you've got yourself a deal!
