We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Spreading Christmas Cheer

I thought this was a fabulous idea:

Coach Geist had the kids from choir meet at the commissary to perform a little Christmas concert. It was kind of a little "thank you" to the commissary for all that they do to support the high school. It was fun to see the shocked looks on peoples' faces as they walked through the sliding doors...but as they figured it out, they all smiled, even if just a little.

Here's a little clip. I have to say, I actually enjoyed shopping while listening to their singing. Normally, the commissary is nothing but drudgery. Today, thanks to these guys, I was feeling the Christmas spirit.
