We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Conference 09...Day Ten...Pancakes, Coles and Archery

Saturday we woke up to the smell of Grandma's pancakes. We tell her not to make a fuss (we are mostly cereal people) but she doesn't listen.

Unfortunately, we had to pack up and head back up the freeway after breakfast. We hated to leave so soon, but we had to get back up north.

That afternoon, we were able to stop and see some friends we haven't seen in about 12 years...Chris and Julie Cole.

I knew them before Cliff and I met...she was my first visiting teacher, and they were wonderful to both of us during the time we were dating and into our early marriage. We've always kept in touch through the years. After we moved from California to Illinois in 93, they moved to Texas, and just in the past few years relocated to Utah. It was so great to see them.

Cliff was able to get in his Cabela's visit, and the Crabtrees joined us for dinner in the restaurant there, followed by fun at the shooting gallery and indoor archery range.

Becca was rocking that pink bow.

And so was Hunter, apparently!

Jake wasn't bad at all. Must have been the cap?

Eventually we had to part ways and get back on the road. We didn't get into Dad's too late so we'd be ready for church the next day. The trip is flying by too quickly!
