We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Rain, rain go away...could you just come again while I'm sleeping?

This is the view out my bedroom window...

which makes me want to climb back under the covers.

And here's my lovely back patio...

which, evidently...only keeps the rain out when it's coming straight down...not sideways.

:-(

I know paradise needs rain...and I know that the dams around here were getting low...

but couldn't we work out a compromise? How about sunny all day with a light breeze, and rain at night...while I'm supposed to be in bed anyway?

I think it sounds completely reasonable. Am I alone in my feelings here? How do you feel about the rain?

*On a positive note...the weather has given me PLENTY of opportunity to catch up on the blog. I'm completely caught up on my Flashback Fridays, having scanned over 50 photos (Can I get an amen!) for your enjoyment. If you'd like to check them out...just look in the right hand column over there---> and scroll up or down to "Labels". Click on Flashback Friday, and read until you are all caught up with me. Hope you like them!

I like rain . . . day or nite. It's like Eastwood in Paint Your Wagon. It enables my need to be melancholy from time to time. Since I no longer partake of my Father's favorite Rum, the rain is just as good. However, we live in the high desert so rain is not so common . . . until this June that is. We have had 3 weeks straigt of clouds, rain and thunder. Erin just got back from Girl's Camp yesterday, and it rained most of the time.

I like the rain.

The rain will ease up soon and you won't see much of it except for a typhoon or tropical storm coming thru, so hang in there, once it is done, it will be done for months!!! It seemed to start later this year as soccer was dryer than normal....it has rained everyday here since we got here too!!! UUHHG! LOL!!!
