We have a tradition in the Stuart home...the Christmas photo shoot. Some years it is full of grandiose notions...some years it is more laid back. Before we entered the digital age, it would consist of shooting a roll or two of film, hoping for that ONE image that was marginal enough to include in the family Christmas card. That was always the longest hour of the year, wandering around Wal*Mart, waiting for the film to be developed. In the years since, we now get more instant gratification...but that can lead to longer photo shoots, and/or more demands from mom who can immediately see and tell you, "you're doin' it wrong."
This year was a delightful experience. True, we were sans Dad (although with few exceptions we usually just include the kids...they're the only ones anyone cares about anyway, right?) but it was SO great to have a photographer with such talent, patience and imagination. Amy never ceases to amaze me! Even the outtakes were good. The conditions were less than ideal. It was really windy, there was not a cloud in the sky, and we had to go at the worst time of day since the museum closed at 4. Amy still nailed it, though.
I thought I'd share a sampling here. I had a really hard time narrowing it down, sorry!
Hope you are all having a swell Christmas season!

Love your hair, Carrie....you look so SASSY! Love your jewelry ensemble as well...looks awfully familiar to me. Great minds think alike. Can't wait to get your Christmas card. Hope you've received ours.
Chat soon,

Why yes, I did receive yours. Adorable, as always. This kids are getting so big. The cards are done, the addresses are cued. Just have to hit "send" to start the thing in motion. Why am I so nervous to do it? Lack of control, I guess.
Great minds DO think alike...sassy hair and shiny bling!
Eeeee! Look at those good-looking kids! I had fun - so glad you like them. :)
Carrie, these pictures were adorable (Amy if you're reading the comments---it was an awesome photo shoot! Can you come and do the Montoya family? just kidding). Carrie, thanks for commenting on my blog. I'm not so good at responding to your comments there but I love reading your words. Thanks for appreciating sacrifices made---says the one that is sacrificing! Thanks for yours. I have really enjoyed reading about where you guys are and think about you in the day and appreciate that I don't have to get shots and have anxieties of a whole other country and how things are going to be and work out. Anyhoo-you are a happy bright spot in my world of friends. Thank you for that!
You have a beautiful family Carrie. You all seem so happy and close as a family. You are very brave to be moving to another country.
You ladies are all so sweet. Blogging is great...it brings us all closer together, don't you think?
