This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

If The Savior Stood Beside Me...

Coree was chosen to sing a solo in our Church's Children's Program 2 weeks ago! Since it was such a special occasion, we gave her Christmas dress to her early. She was SO excited! It's an American Girl Dress...and just so happens to have an Asian motif. She looked beautiful.

I had to get a shot of the bow...

This was the second time I found myself wishing I could bring a camera into Sacrament Meeting. This Blogging is SUCH a bad influence!

I knew Coree was SO nervous, and I felt nervous for her. I also knew that I cry EVERY year during the Children's Program, whether I have kids singing in it or not...and I didn't want to make her more nervous by bawling. I tried really hard, but it was pointless. At least I didn't sob audibly. When she was done, a friend of ours leaned over and whispered (as he chuckled), "You're leaking."

She nailed it! We were worried, because she was sick and getting worse, but we were all praying for her, and she didn't crack or miss a note once! She really invited the Spirit...even the babies were a captive audience. About 2 hours later, her voice was almost completely gone...the timing was a tender mercy!

Congratulations Coree!

Beautiful! As the Primary President here I have to say I love Primary Programs! And that song is my favorite. Good job Coree!

She is such a gorgeous girl! I'm telling you, she was the most natural of the girls to photograph. I just think she's awesome.

Did you see the DVD yet? Eee! :)

Thanks, Ladies. Coree loved reading your comments. Amy, I have NOT seen the DVD...how do I get my hands on one? Thanks SO much for including her in your photo shoot!

What?? Theresa took yours Friday and was supposed to deliver it...bullocks. I just might have to call her tonight because you'll be amazed at Miss Coree.

It's a full CD of the shots (original and antiqued) and then, a music slideshow on DVD of the best selections.

Yeah - I'm calling her. :)

I just discovered your blog! Anyway, my little girl Natalie also sang this song as a soloist in our primary program. She is only 4 years old! She did great though. Her dad played the piano and I held the microphone to her.
Love,
Jeri Stephenson Heckathorn
