We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Flashback Friday...The Kretschmers

I
s this the most precious face? I miss these cheeks so much!

When Cliff was a Marine (I know...I know...Once a Marine, Always a Marine) and we were stationed at Camp Pendleton, we met the Kretschmers. They are FUN people! They moved to San Diego, and then we did...and then they moved to Okinawa, and then we.....moved to El Centro. What's up with that!? Oh well, luckily, they got tapped for another tour in Okinawa...so they will still be there when we get there...at least for a little while.

Julia used to take Coree and Vicki to Sea World for the day. (Not that I'm eager to go back to the days of potty training and strollers...but it sure was nice to get kids under 3 in FREE!) Aren't they darling? Maybe we can re-enact this one somewhere on Okinawa?

Here's Julia, Vicki and Ed at Coree's 2nd birthday party. They haven't changed a bit...neither have we! Only the kids are getting older...
