This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

We're goin' to Disneyland!

Last time we were at Disney's California Adventure in 2003

Since we're losing our Bush tax cuts, we figured we'd better get to Disneyland quick, while we still have some dispensible income left!

Seriously though, we decided to take one more trip to Disneyland before we leave the country. We hear the one in Tokyo is just not the same.

I owe a great big thank you to Kay Lineback for suggesting it...REALLY for insisting that Cliff take us. It was a great idea.

We had a great time today...tomorrow we are headed to Knott's Berry Farm for the day (to take advantage of their veteran's deal) and then Friday it's more Disney.

We got our hotel through Priceline...we always do. We actually scored beautiful rooms at the Hyatt. We were blown away when our bid landed us these rooms...but then when we checked in, we were issued flashlights. There will be an all night power outage beginning in about half an hour. (I'd better hurry!) LOL, things they don't show you in their commercials!

We're still at the happiest place on earth...so who can seriously complain?

I am so jealous! I love Disney! It is so much fun and we always have such a good time every time we go. I am right now seriously debating wether or not I want to continue saving to remodel our kitchen or go to Disney again! Have a great time!

THANKS! I hear you, it is totally worth the money. Cliff and I sat in the movie about Disney's first 50 years (with Steve Martin) and I actually cried (like that's a surprise to anyone) going down memory lane. When I was a kid, it really was like magic...and I STILL get that feeling when I'm here. Glad that so many other adults are with me on that!

I LOVE Disneyland!! I think I love it more than my kids do. ha! I'm so glad you guys are having so much fun. What a cute picture you posted. My last experience with Priceline.. we ended up in a smoke infested room that they offered to 'fog' with some intensely cherry flavored air spray. It was NOT a good experience! I couldn't bring myself to risk it again.. Glad you only had a power outage! haha
