Tonight we had a farewell for one of our favorite chaplains. We are really going to miss Mike and his wife Jeanine.
(Trivia: This is the 3rd gathering I've had to attend at Macaroni Grill this week. I didn't even know they had banquet rooms...now I'm practically living there. As a general practice, I rarely eat there. Now

Anyway, this is the part I wanted to share with you. You see, Cliff is replacing Mike. "Movin' On Up", you might say. He's going to be the new Deputy. This plaque used to hang on Mike's door...and he wanted to make sure it got passed down to its new, rightful owner. If you notice, this is a target, being held in place by a live person...which is evidently, really how it is done in Korea. The symbolism that it conveys is what is important. (Apparently, Cliff's inheriting a tough job.)

Let's hope he's still smiling a few months from now. (I'd miss this smile.)

Oh...and Joanne made it out! This is her first outing since her broken ankle was reconstructed and it was SO nice to see her up. I haven't seen her since the days following her accident...and then it was just to peek in on her (to make sure she hadn't fallen out of bed) in between doing loads of laundry and tidying up.
Then we went home and found Patrick, and shortly after Coree and Troy followed. They'd been at the pool at a church youth party and had walked home. (LOVE having the pool so close.) Then while we were deep in conversation, the back door burst open and this walked in:

Jake rode his bike home like this. Love the look of the helmet, goggles, towel and flip-flops together. I'm going to miss this boy.

You forget Sarah, too.
Yes, there was a guest appearance by Sarah after the pool party, too. ;^)
My mom always led us to believe that if you rode your bike with sandals or in bare feet, your toes would get caught in the chain.
I believed her...
