We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Beach Baptism

Today I had another first...I attended my first baptism on Okinawa, held at Toguchi Beach. Let me tell you, I wished I had another child just so we could have a baptism here.

It was a little drizzly, so we all stood under this rock formation (where only the condensation dripped on us) while the service was held. Then we moved over to the right side of this picture to watch the actual baptism.

Here they are, coming back in. She was baptized by her older brother. Isn't that sweet? My younger brother was baptized by my older brother, too.

Since it was my first time here, I had to take some more pics...

Love the details.

T was giving his mom a very convincing argument here. This little boy rocks, BTW.

Then we all went up to this little pavilion and enjoyed the view, and some refreshments.

It's not looking quite as lovely over there...

But turn to the right and it's just plain gorgeous!

This sweet little girl's mommy was already out and about...only six days after having her! She rocks, too!

One last shot to drool over.

The end.

That is beautiful!! Maybe by the time Erek is 8, we will have enough money to just take a trip up there and have a special baptism trip. :)

I can't beleive that was your first time at Taguchi!! Vicki and Ty were both baptized there and Ryan was sad we moved before he was 8! Scuba divers surfaced during Ty's baptism! LOL

These are great shots. I'll bet being here was simply amazing.
