We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

He just needed hangin'...

Walking past the bathroom the other night, I had to do a double take...

According to Jake, it all started with this guy...

And then WW III just broke out.

I have to admit, for being cheap and plastic, these guys are sure resourceful.

It really is all about the beans, bullets and Band-aids, and they were clearly up to the task. LOVE the linking cube cannons, too.

I would have gotten closeups, but I wanted to keep our PG rating. If you care to click to enlarge, do so at your own risk...the carnage is a bit much.

Good thing nobody had to resort to biological warfare during the battle!

toooo funny! that was Jorden! Always battle scenes in every room! we would find endless army men everytime we moved! Once we took in our VCR to be fixed, only to have it returned being told it worked better if the things in the zip lock bag did not go in the slot first, it was a baggie of army men!! We have many headless, armless, etc. soldiers in our house!

Reminds me of when my boys used to hang the GI Joe's from the branches of our castor bean plants. And then there was the time when Uncle Neal had rubber band wars with the troops. LOL
