We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

My Own Little Rainforest

I know I have mentioned my love for this tree a time or two...

But I just had to share it in (almost) real life with you. Listen...

Isn't that just the best? These birds hang out here every night just before dusk. I love the lead singer...the choir is pretty incredible, too.

Just another day in paradise...

So when are you booking your flight?

once summer hits the bugs will be louder than the birds! LOL! I remember just being in awe at how loud those critters could strum their body parts!!! You'll want to post that, my family was shocked at how loud they were!!!
