We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Yo Quiero Geico?

When I said these guys are everywhere...I really wasn't kidding. While waiting to place my order for a late dinner at the drive thru last night...I saw this guy pop into view. It was hard to miss him with the background illumination. I don't know how he got inside, but I'm guessing he was lost.

These cute little lizards were everywhere on our recent holiday. They were known locally as "Moko" and they named the kids club after them!
