We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

Flashback Friday...Another Adorable Aviator

Just so you know, Troy wasn't the only one rockin' the airplane bouncy around our house.

Isn't Patrick adorable? Love the rippling "muscles" even back then!

By the time Coree and Jake came along, we had moved and no longer had the necessary door frames for this thing...unless we wanted to hang it in the bathroom doorway, which just seemed weird.

You know, when things got really crazy I used to say, "I look forward to the day I can look back on all this with great nostalgia."

Well here I am. Most days, it's a great place to be. Some days, though...it sucks the breath out of me to think about. Where did the time go? How am I going to let them go, sooner rather than later?

For now, since I have been trying to live more in the present...the here and now...I think I've officially spent enough time indulging myself in this flashback...and now it's time to go live my life for today.

I'm going to make my family some chicken enchilada love!
