We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

It's Muffin Season Again!

Only this time, we tried some tweaks.

(1)
We used fun papers...WAY worth the extra cost when you think of the extra clean up they save.

(2)
We used mini chocolate chips this time. (We always do mini muffins...we thought, "Why not mini chips?") This turned out to be a mistake. Who would have thunk it would make that much of a difference when the total chocolate volume is the same? They look nice and mini, but the chocolate flavor is also just that...MINI. We're going back to the standard chips...LOVE those bursts of chocolate flavor. (Want a little pumpkin with your chocolate?)

Fall is finally here on Okinawa! Woohoo!
