We are the Stuarts (formerly of Imperial) now residing in Okinawa, Japan.

This blog started from a desire to bridge the miles as we were preparing to leave the USA for 3+ years. It has turned into much more. It's part travel diary, part personal reflection, part "sociology of military life" and part mommy-blog. We hope you read something here that is interesting to you (or at least not a total waste of your time).

PLEEZ...someone call Queer Eye!

Why does my family LOVE to push my buttons so? I am the first to admit I have issues. Many of you (thanks to the '25 random facts about me' phenom that is taking Facebook by storm) already know of my hanger fixation. I also have a compulsive need to buy things in multiples of 2 (not big things like cars or furniture...just every day stuff), I can't handle the feeling of newsprint on my fingers, and I can't STAND it when clothes don't match. It hurts my eyes and ears at the same time. Anyway, Troy used to try to wear a striped polo shirt and camouflage pants together. He actually got away with it for Seminary a couple of times and I didn't catch him until I came to pick him up. I kind of pitched a bit of a fit.

So one day I'm walking through the living room and I see this on the TV screen:

That's Troy's character on Xbox live. All that trouble...just to push my buttons...but I did get a good laugh out of it.

So then they can't just stop there...a little later, Cliff comes running in to greet me:

He's all mine...24/7.

Hi Carrie,

Let's hear it for Uber-husband. Maybe what you had to say about him went to his head?!?!!? Just a thought.

Chat soon,

I suppose...except that I know he hasn't read it...he hardly ever reads this...which pretty much gives me unlimited creative license!
